Opening Soon: Gidinawendimin
Richardson Gallery
Dates: Coming Soon
Biindigen! We are humbled to offer our first welcome to the new NCAM with Michi
Saagiig words.
Step into a vibrant, immersive experience that celebrates Michi Saagiig, the local dialect
of the Anishinaabe. Gidinawendimin is a groundbreaking, Indigenous-led exhibition that
honours the beauty, depth, and resilience of Michi Saagiig culture.
Through local Indigenous voices, contemporary digital art, and interactive media,
visitors will explore how Michi Saagiig shapes identity, worldview, and connection to the
land and ancestors.
Developed under the guidance and leadership of e wiindmaagzijig [link to e
wiindmaagzijig], a circle of Indigenous Elders, Knowledge Keepers, and language
teachers, this exhibition centres Michi Saagiig voices and ways of knowing.
